Job Purpose

Responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all meats, fish, poultry, sauces, stocks, seasoning and all other food items prepared in the kitchen stations in order to produce food that is not only delicious and cooked to the specifications of the customer but that is prepared to safety standards. 

Essential Functions

  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest 
  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties 
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible  
  • Ensures compliance with all hotel policies and procedures that relate to food and beverage, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations  
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines 
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned 
  • Check food plating, temperature and portions for all cold and hot dishes 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Other duties as assigned 


  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in a similar role 
  • Knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods 
  • Food Handler’s Certification
