General Summary

Responsible for the oversight of overall production and other operational performance activities across all aggregate plant operations.

Principle Duties and Accountabilities

  • Supports and leads continuing improvement of safety culture.
  • Ensures operations are complying with all internal auditing practices which may include operational, safety, environmental, accounting, and human resources audits.
  • Execution and oversight of annual and interim operating plans, budgets, and forecasts at all aggregate operations.
  • Manage the capital needs of the plants, develop capital budgets and work with financial staff to anticipate capital requirements.
  • Develop and lead the execution of improvement plans for the aggregate operations and staff in meeting key objectives, improving overall productivity, process improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Coordination with technical support including mine planning, analytics, environment, and engineering to resolve processing and production problems.
  • Coordinate and work with plant management in creating development plans for operations team members.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to operation personnel.
  • Drives plant efficiency and optimization goals and ensures productivity and cost goals are achieved each month.
  • Keeps up to date on industry process improvements, technology, and trends within the industry.

Educational Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, accounting, finance, or marketing preferred, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in Aggregate operations including direct leadership and management of people.
  • Minimum 10 years’ previous experience/knowledge of overall Aggregate mining processes and effective maintenance practices.
  • Thorough understanding of Aggregate industry and marketplace issues and trends.
  • At least 5 years’ recent experience in management with plant P&L responsibility.
  • Knowledge and experience with MSHA rules and regulations required.
  • Excellent computer skills are required and must be proficient with Excel and Word.
  • Must be detail orientated, ability to multi-task, highly organized with excellent time management skills, interpersonal skills, initiative, commitment to task, adaptability, and ethics.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options or approaches to problems.
  • Demonstrated ability and proven track record in strategy implementation, change management, and continuous improvement.
